I thi...I personaly don't think there is a fat gene. I think food habits start very early. Like when we got hurt our mums would give up a lolly to cheer us up [we learn to comfort eat] then our parents tell us to stay at the table untill we finish all our dinner [we learn to eat past being full and it becomes natural] Our dads eat our leftovers because "We don't waste food in this house" so we learn to do the same thing, for the same reason. So it's not our genes, it's our jeans lol
As for the other point, why do we let ourselves go?
I got picked on all through school for being fat even though i wasn't at all. It was/is a sore point children use to get at each other, and when they get a reaction to it, they keep it going. After a while i believed i was fat so i got to thinking,"i guess it doesn't matter about my size, because no matter how skinny i am, i'll never be good enough, or skinny enough"
Sad aye?
Then one day i looked in the mirror and realised just how big i was.The rest is history.TitanThirteenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06409728436640335599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31145842.post-1157089235623842242006-08-31T22:40:00.000-07:002006-08-31T22:40:00.000-07:00christie, ok, I have a your blog in my favorites s...christie,
ok, I have a your blog in my favorites so I can get to it, thanks.angelfish24https://www.blogger.com/profile/13444378218098178416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31145842.post-1157063863649871452006-08-31T15:37:00.000-07:002006-08-31T15:37:00.000-07:00Angel - thanks for your comment!I'll be posting as...Angel - thanks for your comment!
I'll be posting asap about my weigh in!

As for why clicking on my profile doesn't get you to my blog, it's because of privacy. And the "skinny mentality" of oh, i forgot to eat. LOL. Seems like some people go out to restaurants and it's really just about having fun, not about the food they're going to eat. Hmmm. Wouldn't that be nice?? Or to go to a movie without thinking about popcorn and getting really excited about it? Or to look at a dessert and go, no, i'm full from dinner, instead of MMM!! I'm full but that looks good, let's have it!

It's a rough road. All I can think is that SOME DAY it will get easier. You just have to push through the times when it's not! I think that mentality we have is a lifestyle form and a habit. It can be changed like anything else. Someone who is a night owl and works nights/sleeps days for years may have a HARD TIME converting to a normal schedule, but they could do it. I think this is the same way. We;ve thought this way, been this way, for years - but it can change! It takes dedication, and (can we say theme?) patience.*Christie*https://www.blogger.com/profile/03836055984193279246noreply@blogger.com
